Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is an established and reliable method to treat wrinkles, large pores, age spots, other blemishes and scars. With this technique, thin layers of skin are removed by pulsating beams of laser light. The exposed, underlayer produces a new layer of smooth, and sometimes tighter skin over the course of 10-14 days, hence the name “resurfacing”. The term “ablative” is often used to describe this type of laser treatment because skin is being removed.

Laser resurfacing is a more aggressive treatment than micro needling or most chemical peels commonly used today. As a result, there is a longer recovery period. The procedure can be performed in office, using a topical numbing cream, and sometimes a local anesthetic injection.
